This department issues building permits and keeps the assessors records and does inspections of buildings. The best time to get them is in the morning. Often they are around town making inspections. Talk with them before beginning a project to ensure it goes smoothly.

The Highway Department repairs and plows and scrapes our roads keeping them passable in all kinds of weather. At the time this picture was taken the temperature was -20 degrees. The wind chill brought it down to 77 degrees below zero. They also operate heavy equipment for the Water, Sewer and Parks department.
The people pictured are the present Town Board. They are (back row) Jojn Rathbun Jane Locke, Brian Wells, and George Virgil. Seated is Julie Clawson, Town Clerk and Barry Hutchins, Town Supervisor. The Board meets monthly on the second Monday of the month at the Town Hall. Once a year the meeting meets at the Blue Mountain Lake Fire Hall. The Board administers the Town, passes new laws and responds to citizens requests for services. Their meetings are open to the public.

The Town Hall provides the office for the Supervisor, the Town Clerk, The Building Department, the Town Court. The Board of Directors, and the Planning and Zoning Boards meet here. It is also the place that many community activities take place; Well Child clinics, flu shots and many community forums meet here. The gracious staff will direct you to the various town services.

The Activities Coordinator can be contacted by leaving a message at Town Hall or by telephone at the number above. She coordinates activites in the Town. Some activities she originates and others she assists groups that have developed activities. The activities are listed on the Events section of this Web Site. Also a calendar of events is distributed about town by the Activities Coordinator. Call her if you need asistance with an event or to volunteer to help with activities.
