A Gift For Everyone

We all know people who are just impossible to shop for. Well, let me break down the perfect Adirondack gifts — by personality!

The Adventure Seeker

Do you know someone who's an adrenaline junkie and always looking for that next big thrill? We have so many awesome activities here in the Adirondacks for them to get their fix!

WHITEWATER RAFTINGWhite Water Rafting Indian Lake

While whitewater rafting is certainly a seasonal activity, it is never too early to book your next adventure. Spring is the ideal time to visit, with optimal rapids due to snow melt. There are two great whitewater rafting outfitters located right in Indian Lake: The Adirondac Rafting Company and the Adventure Sports Rafting Company. Both will take you on an exhilarating 17-mile trip down the Hudson River Gorge.

A Sea Plane Ride

 Sea Planes Adirondacks

Go sky high with your gift this year! Give the gift of a scenic flight with Helm's Aero Service in Long Lake, or Payne's Air Service in Inlet. While not the most extreme in the adventure category, it is a breathtaking new way to see the sights around the Adirondacks!

Snowmobiling

 Snowmobile Adirondacks

Got someone with a need for speed? Snowmobiling is by far the biggest tourism attraction to the Adirondacks in the winter. With miles and miles of groomed trails leading from town to town, you can't go wrong with a snowmobile rental from Village Motorsports in Speculator, or Clark's Marina and Snowmobile Rental in Inlet.  Got your own sleds? Come and stay for a weekend and explore all of the shops and restaurants we have to offer!

The Introvert

If you have someone on your shopping list who maybe isn't the most social and likes to keep to themselves, here are some great gift ideas!

A Weekend Getaway Binders Cabins Adirondacks

Book a stay at a private cottage in the Adirondacks, maybe somewhere in the woods or a nice secluded spot overlooking a lake. It is a great way to enjoy the Adirondacks, while keeping things low-key. Curling up in front of a roaring fire with a nice blanket sounds like a nice, quiet way to enjoy an evening away.

Dinner In

 Melody Lodge Burger and Fries

Avoid the hustle and bustle of a busy restaurant  — order food to go! Maybe take it back to that cozy cottage you're staying at and have a fireside picnic. What a romantic way to enjoy the fabulous restaurants we have!

The Shopaholic

Gift Certificates! Speculator Department Store Shopping

I know what you're thinking... gift certificates are a cop-out! But, they aren't always. If you have someone on your list who loves to shop, a gift certificate is fuel to the fire of their passion! A gift certificate to a local shop gives them a reason to not only visit the Adirondacks, but to do something they enjoy — shopping!

The Outdoorsman (or Woman!)

If you know someone who is the outdoorsy type, the Adirondacks are endlessly full of gifts, and best of all, most of them are free!

A Long hike Spruce Lake Hike

Take your loved one out on a long hike to one of the many fire towers scattered across our many towns, or maybe take an overnight hike to somewhere like a lean to in Spruce Lake. The hiking trails are endless, with varying degrees of difficulty and many ending in rewarding views. Maybe throw on a pair of snowshoes and take a mid-winter trek through the woods!

A Day of skiing

 Lapland Lake Skiing

Hit up Lapland Lake Nordic Ski Center for a full day of cross-country skiing and fun. You can bring your own equipment, or rent it there. They have trails ranging from beginner to expert as well as groomed and ungroomed trails! You can even make a stay out of it, renting one of their tupas where you can have food delivered to your cabin to be heated in your kitchen later!

No matter who you are shopping for, here in the heart of the Adirondacks we have the ideal gifts for you to choose from!
