Snowmobiling in the Adirondacks

Adirondack Snowmobiling

Make every day a vacation day

The stuff dreams are made of

The Adirondacks is THE place to snowmobile in New York state. Over groomed and backcountry trails, experience the heart-pounding exhilaration of snowmobiling through a winter wonderland on some of the finest trails in the northeast. Boasting more than 750 miles of free snowmobile trails for your riding pleasure, this region of the Adirondacks is home to the biggest trail system in New York.

Pack up the gear, the sleds, the family, and tell your friends to meet you on the trail - vacation is waiting, and so are we!

We know after a day on the trails you want a hot shower, a hot meal, and a hot toddy to warm those cold bones and get you ready for the next trail. Many local businesses offer affordable lodging packages for snowmobilers, so you can get away and explore the backcountry at your leisure.

Choose your loop

We have loops in all directions from these starting places:

Speculator: north to Indian Lake, south to Wells, west to Piseco and beyond

Indian Lake: Moose River Plains, west to Raquette Lake, northwest to Long Lake, northeast to Newcomb

Long Lake: north to Tupper Lake, east to Newcomb, northwest to Cranberry Lake

Inlet*: Moose River Plains, west to Old Forge and Tug Hill
(*Permit required)

Leave No Trace

The magic of the Adirondacks is the result of previous generations taking a long view and protecting the mountains, lakes, and rivers within the Blue Line. That tradition continues today as we support and encourage everyone to practice Leave No Trace ethics, which help protect the lands and waters of the Adirondacks.
