The Southern Adirondacks are peppered with great places to spend the night. Whether you prefer to stay right in the hustle and bustle of town, a secluded cabin in the woods, or in a tent, there is an option for everyone. Waterfront spots are some of the most sought-after overnight destinations in the area, and it's no wonder — our lakes and ponds are beautiful. Here are a just a few samples of places to stay with great private beaches!

Sunset Beach Cottages, Inlet

Sunset Beach Cottages is named for its stunning views over 4th Lake in Inlet. If you stay in one of the six cottages, you have access to not only a beautiful sandy beach, but also canoes, kayaks, and stand up paddleboards. Take advantage of the pavilion and outdoor kitchen, complete with brick oven, to cook up dinner for the whole family. Then head beachside to the lakeside campfire area to watch the infamous sunsets and roast some s'mores! 

Shamrock Motel and Cottages, Long Lake

Long Lake has some beautiful lakefront properties on its seemingly endless miles of shoreline, including the Shamrock Motel and Cottages. You can feel right at home in one of the Shamrock's fully furnished cottages or efficiency units, all of which have barbecue grills and picnic tables for grilling the perfect summer dinner. It also has motel rooms, which are perfect if you plan to visit the great restaurants in the area for your meals. The secluded sandy beach is for guest use only and is an ideal place to spend the day fishing or lounging. The Shamrock also has boats for rent on property, including kayaks, canoes, paddle boats, sailboats, and more. 

Pike Point, Indian Lake

Located on Lake Abanakee in Indian Lake, Pike Point is the perfect cabin if you're looking for a secluded getaway for your whole family. This home is even dog friendly, so you won't have to leave your pup behind! Sleeping up to eight people, this house is nestled in the woods, close to 260 feet of private beach frontage. You can easily fish, swim, or take a boat out for a paddle, all right from your back door. The rental property has four kayaks, two paddle board, and a canoe all available for the use. End each day with a cozy campfire while you relax in an Adirondack chair.

WatersEdge Cottages, Lake Pleasant
WatersEdge Cottages

WatersEdge Cottages in Lake Pleasant are located close to everything that Speculator and Lake Pleasant have to offer, but you almost wouldn't know it! This secluded but easily accessible property has two lakefront cabins, each with two bedrooms, as well as four two-bedroom condo units. Every unit has been recently renovated and decorated in handcrafted Adirondack decor. There is a recreation room available for guests to use, and a sandy beach to relax on. Just steps away from your front door is beautiful Lake Pleasant, a medium size lake that is great for fishing, boating, and swimming. Lake Pleasant Marina is nearby if you want to rent a boat during your stay! 

Prospect Point Cottages, Blue Mountain Lake

Prospect Point Cottages are located on Route 28 in Blue Mountain Lake, just steps from the lake itself. The spot boasts thirteen cabins, as well as three other units in the main lodge. Prospect Point is located close to the Blue Boat Mountain Livery if you are interested in a larger boat for use on the lake, but Prospect Point does have canoes, rowboats, and paddle boats available free of charge. You'll also find 200 feet of beautiful sandy beachfront here, plus a sprawling lawn that is perfect for an afternoon picnic, or a game of horseshoes or badminton! 

Irondequoit Inn, Piseco

Established in 1892, the Irondequoit Inn is located on the shore of Piseco Lake. If you are looking for a lodge experience, a lakeside cabin, or if you want to rough it in a tent for your vacation, the inn has options for all of the above! The inn provides on-site dining with breakfast seven days a week, dinner on the weekends, and bag lunches for your hikes or days on the lake are available for pre-order. The inn has a serene beach on the north end of Piseco Lake. You are also in close proximity to great hiking such as Panther Mountain and T Lake Falls.
