Summer Events for 2023

By the time the end of spring starts rolling around, we all start going a little stir crazy. We've been cooped up for a few months, spring cleaning, dodging the rain and mud. If you're itching to get out of the house, here is a glimpse at just a few of the events we have coming up!

Birding Festival Participants, Bass Tournament and Black Fly Challenge

Long Lake Youth Fishing Contest

June 3, 2023

The Long Lake Youth Fishing Contest is hosted by the Long Lake Fish and Game Club at Jennings Park Pond. In the early spring, the pond is stocked with trout. 

Adirondack Boreal Birding Festival

June 8 - June 11, 2023

Held the second full weekend in June, this 4 day Birding Festival features hikes, walks and seminars throughout Hamilton County. And best of all, its free! (Registration is required)

Black Fly Challenge

June 10, 2023

The famous Black Fly Challenge is a 40 mile, gravel grinding race that crosses rugged back-country terrain through Moose River Plains, running this year from Indian Lake to Inlet. If you're not a cyclist, you can still come to check out the start of the race, or join in on the post-race party at Fern Park in Inlet!

Long Lake Bass & Pike Fishing Derby

June 17, 2023

You'll have a chance to win cash prizes for Pike, Largemouth and Smallmouth ass in Long Lake during the Long Lake Bass and Pike Fishing Derby. This derby is sponsored by the Long Lake Fish and Game Club. Entry fee is $25.

Audubon Society Lecture at the Lake Pleasant Library

June 20, 2023

The Lake Pleasant Library will be hosting the Audubon Society while they present a lecture on birding. They will also be introducing the backpack that patrons can check out of the library that includes binoculars and other birding supplies!

Fireworks, craft fair booths, parade, classic car

Indian Lake 4th of July

July 1, 2023

The Town of Indian Lake has a full day of fun planned for 4th of July! The Indian Lake Fish and Game Club will be sponsoring a youth fishing derby. They will have poles available for use, as well as free bait, lunch and prizes. Later in the day, there will be a parade followed by fireworks at dusk!

Speculator 4th of July Celebration

July 1, 2023

Head to Speculator for their biggest annual event- 4th of July Celebration!  The parade kicks off at 7 p.m., followed by carnival games and food from CampStore, and bounce houses!

Raquette Lake's Fireworks from the Barge

July 4, 2023

Starting from the Village Green at dusk, the Fireworks from the Barge will begin at dusk and will be visible from the shoreline of Raquette Lake.

Long Lake's 4th of July Celebration

July 4, 2023

Long Lake will host their annual 4th of July Games at the Town Ball Field, sponsored by the Town of Long Lake, at 10 a.m. with games for all ages! Starting at 6 p.m., the rest of the celebration will take place at the Town Beach. There will be live music from Willie Playmore, food from the Long Lake Fire Department and the Long Lake Lions Club. Then at dark, fireworks!

Piseco Lake Yacht Club's Parade of Boats

July 4, 2023

This boat parade starts from Poplar Point Campground at 11 a.m. It is free for all and boat decoration is encouraged! 

Indian Lake Poker Paddle  

July 15, 2023

The Indian Lake Poker Paddle is sponsored by the Indian Lake Chamber of Commerce and takes place on Adirondack Lake. You can participate with anything propelled by a paddle! Make stops around Adirondack Lake to collect a 5 card poker hand. Prizes will be awarded for 1st-5th place.

Inlet's Arts in the Park

July 15 - July 16, 2023

The Annual Arts in the Park craft fair is back in Arrowhead Park this July on Saturday and Sunday. There will be a variety of vendors offering handmade products. There will also be live music both days. 

2nd Annual Kayak Poker Run in Arietta

July 22, 2023

The Forever Wild Tavern will be hosting their second Kayak Poker Run. Guaranteed to be a good time, with paddling fun and raffles!

An Evening with the Symphony

July 28, 2023

The Fulton Chain of Lakes Performing Arts Council presents an Evening with the Symphony in Inlet. At 3 p.m., there will be a free family-friendly concert under the tent, and at 7:30 p.m. the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra will perform. Tickets are just $35!

Inlet Classic Car Cruise & Show

July 29, 2023

There is free entry for cars and motorcycles, as well as free admission for spectators at the Inlet Classic Car Cruise! This event is sponsored by the Inlet Historical Society and there will be food, raffles and more available for your enjoyment.

Shakespeare in the Park

July 30, 2023

Join the Shakespeare in the Park theater company at the Mt. Sabattis Pavilion in Long Lake, for their performance of The Tempest.

Durant Days

August 4 - August 6, 2023

Raquette Lake celebrates Durant Days in August. Learn about the history of Great Camps as well as William West Durant. Tour Great Camp Sagamore, take a boat tour on the WW Durant, and more.

Heart of the Park Craft Fair

August 6, 2023

The Mt. Sabattis Pavilion in Long Lake is home to the annual Heart of the Park Craft Fair. Get a jump on your holiday shopping! Admission is only $1.

TWIGS Annual Craft Fair

August 10, 2023

From 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., visit the Speculator ball field for the annual TWIGS Craft Fair. There will be lots of great vendors as well as food.

Speculator Bear & Wine Festival

August 26, 2023

Enjoy beer, liquor and wine tastings at the Bear & Wine Festival. There will also be live music, crafters, food trucks and other vendors.

September 2, 2023

The Fire Tower Festival is still in the planning stages, but seems to be a promising inaugural event! There will be fire tower experts, vendors, food trucks, fire safety education, kids activities and more. 

90 Miler Adirondack Canoe Classic

September 9, 2023

The 90 Miler Adirondack Canoe Classic Race will launch from Bissell's Field in Long Lake at 8 a.m. This race lasts 3 days and covers 90 miles, concluding at the boat launch on Lake Flower in Saranac Lake.

Adirondack Antiques Show

September 13, 2023 - September 17, 2023

Vendors line the streets in Indian Lake and Blue Mountain Lake during the Adirondack Antiques Show taking place every year in September. Search for that special furniture piece, hunting antiques and so much more.

Inlet Fall Festival

September 16 - September 17, 2023

This year will be Inlet's 30th year of their Annual Fall Festival. There will be vendors selling a multitude of products, as well as live music, food trucks, a beer tent, raffles and so much more! Free admission and parking.

Great Adirondack Moose Festival

September 22- September 24, 2023

The annual Great Adirondack Moose Festival is a huge draw for Indian Lake and has lots of great events for the whole family, including a moose calling contest, guided hikes, a craft fair and so much more.

Apple Fest

September 23, 2023

Celebrate all things apple at Speculator's Apple Fest. Enjoy vendors, games, baked goods and more.

Long Boat Regatta

September 23, 2023

The Long Lake Long Boat Regatta kicks off at the Long Lake Town Beach and features war canoes and C4 boats. Spectators encouraged!
